After four days of competition, team from Dong Nai scored one bronze in high jump category for women.
Meanwhile, the Military team topped the medal tally with eight golds, six silvers and nine bronzes. Ha Noi came second with seven golds, 11 silvers and five bronzes, while hosts HCM City were third with six golds, five silvers and three bronzes.
The event saw many new national records set, with race walker Nguyen Thanh Ngung in the men’s 20km with a time of 1:36.09, Nguyen Tien Trong in the men’s long jump with 7.98m and Do Tan Truong in the men’s hammer throw with 55.17m.
The tournament, which was jointly held by the Vietnam Athletics Federation and the HCM city’s Athletics Federation, attracted 398 athletes representing 49 delegations from across the country, including Dong Nai, competing for 49 sets of medals.
It is a warm-up for Vietnamese athletes to prepare for the Southeast Asian Games to be held in the Philippines later this year.
