SEA Games winner Le Thanh Tung grabbed his medal in the men’s horizontal bar after finishing third behind China's Hu Xuwei and Chinese Taipei's Tang Chia-Hung.

It was the first ever Asian medal for Vietnam in the horizontal bars event.

Tung who won gold at the Asian Championships in 2017 in the vault said he was lucky to have finished in the top three in a category that was not really his forte.

It was a pity that he could take part in the vault this year because of an ankle injury.

The second bronze went to Dinh Phuong Thanh in the men’s parallel bars behind China's Liu Rongbing and Hu Xuwei.

China topped the medal tally with 10 golds. Chinese Taipei and Japan were second and third, while Vietnam finished 10th out of 11 teams.
