(ĐN)- On April 17, Choro ethnic people in Dinh Quan district’s Tuc Trung commune organized Sayangva or New Rice Festival.`

The Sayangva festival is one of the most important festivals of the Choro people. It is held annually with the aim of pay homage to Giang (Heaven) and the spirits, which protect the villagers and bless them with a bumper harvest, clement weather and a peaceful life.

The festival included various cultural activities such as making traditional Choro dishes to offer to the god of rice, drums and gongs performances, and folk games.

The annual festival aims to raise the young generation's awareness of the cultural and spiritual values of the Choro ethnic group as well as preserve and promote the tradition of Cho ro ethnic minority group in the locality.
