(ĐN)- Choro ethnic people in Long Khanh town’s Bau Tram commune on March 23 organized Sayangva or "Welcome the New Rice" Festival.

The Sayangva festival is one of the most important festivals of the Choro people. It is held annually between 1st and 2nd month of Lunar calendar, the harvest of the new rice. It is reserved to pay homage to Giang (Heaven) and the spirits, which protect the villagers and bless them with a bumper harvest, clement weather and a peaceful life.

The festival will also held at the district’s Bao Quang and Bao Vinh communes on March 30.
