(ĐN)- A ceremony was held last night at Tran Bien Temple of Literature in Bien Hoa city to mark the 17th Vietnam Poetry Day and the 5th Dong Nai Writers’ and Artists’ Day.
The event features a wide range of activities, such as paying tribute to President Ho chi Minh and cultural celebrities worshipped at Tran Bien Temple of Literature, introduction of 13 new poets and songs composed by writers and artists in the province, along with exhibition on typical fine arts works and photos in 2018.
Since its debut on Nguyen Tieu (the 15th day of the first lunar month) in 2003, the Vietnam Poetry Day, the biggest poetry festival in the country, has become a national tradition, taking place in the spring of each year.
Starting out as an initiative of the Vietnam Writers' Association, the Poetry Day has been organized in many provinces and cities to honor poetry, which has been an integral part of Vietnamese culture for thousands of years.
