In group D, team from Dong Nai earned first win after beating Lam Dong 1-0 in the opening match. In other matches, Hoang Anh Gia Lai beat Binh Dinh 3-0 while S. Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen drew 0-0.
In group A, Than Quang Ninh beat Viettel 1-0 while Pho Hien won Nam Dinh 2-0.
In group B, SHB Da Nang beat Song Lam Nghe An 1-0 while Thua Thien-Hue and Hong Linh Ha Tinh drew 0-0.
In group D, An Giang crushed Long An 5-0 while B. Binh Duong defeated Ben Tre 3-0 and HCM city drew Tay Ninh 0-0.
In the second matches of group D scheduled to take place on January 17, Dong Nai will play Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen vs. Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Binh Dinh vs. Lam Dong.
