(ĐN)- Athlete Le Uyen Phuong from Dong Nai province, a member of Vietnamese team, excellently won a gold medal in 54-kg category for women of the 19th Southeast Asia (SEA) University Games’ Vovinam event which recently closed in Myanmar.
Phuong’s result contributed to the national Vovinam team’s achievements who won four gold medals to triumph at the event.
After three days of competition, Vietnam scored a total of four gold, three siver and two bronze medals, ranking third in the Games’ overall medal tally.
The 2018 SEA University Games, officially known as the 19th ASEAN University Games, is a largest sporting event for university students which is held biennially This is the first time Myanmar has been hosted the Games and is also the first time Vovinam has been put into competition.
