The opening ceremony will start with a parade of 41 sports delegations from across the province. It was then followed by the torch procession and the opening rituals. Finally, a grand performance made by 1,000 athletes from HCM city's University of Sports and Physical Training along with many local artists and students.
The festival attracts thousands of athletes, competing in 21 games. It offers a chance to select the best athletes for the upcoming 8th National Games scheduled to be held on November 25.
