Vietnam’s U17 football team, led by head coach Dinh The Nam, have been called up to prepare for the Jenesys 2018 international tournament in Japan.

Jenesys 2018 is a youth sport exchange programme with the aim of promoting  mutual understanding between Japan and Asia-Pacific countries.

The U17 Jenesys 2018 tournament is organized as part of the programme, providing a good chance for young players to gain playing experience in preparation for key upcoming tournaments.

The tournament is set to get underway from October 3-10 in J-Village, Fukushima, Japan. The Vietnamese team will compete with other U17 teams from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and the host, Japan.

Head coach Dinh The Nam highly appreciated the significance of the tournament for Vietnamese U17 players, who receive great assistance from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) ahead of the 2019 AFF U18 Youth Championship and the 2020 AFC U19 Championship qualification.

Vietnam’s U17 football team will attend a training session at the Promotion Fund for Vietnamese Football Talent (PVF) Football Training Centre on September 8.
