Dong Nai wins gold at national chess tourney for top young players

(ĐN)- The National Youth Chess Tournament, jointly organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation and Ninh Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, concluded on Sunday.

 

(ĐN)- The National Youth Chess Tournament, jointly organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation and Ninh Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, concluded on Sunday.

The annual tournament was among main of competitions of the federation and is held for outstanding young players across the country.

After 9 days of competition, Thai Ngoc Tuong Minh of Dong Nai province excellently won a gold medal in girls’ U11 category. With this result, Minh won a berth in the national team to compete at the upcoming tournaments in Asia and South-east Asia.

The tournament drew the participation of 260 young players from 24 teams nationwide, including team from Dong Nai province, competing for medals in 8 age groups for both boys and girls.
