(ĐN)- Athlete Nguyen Thanh Khiet of Dong Nai province excellently won a gold medal at the World Championship of Vietnam’s Traditional Martial Arts which concluded in Ha Noi on Sunday.
Earlier, Khiet also scored a gold medal at the National Traditional Martial Arts Cup held in Lao Cai province in July, contributing to Dong Nai team’s achievements with 3 golds, 5 silvers and 4 bronzes.
Co-organized by the World Federation of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts (WFVV) and Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the tournament features the participation of 279 athletes from 29 countries and territories worldwide, especially those from countries with robust development of Vietnamese traditional martial arts like France, Russia, India, Germany, Italy, Laos and Algeria.
The four-day tournament served to encourage the development of Vietnamese martial arts and promote Vietnam’s culture and tradition.
