Vietnam topped group D with 4 wins to enter the semi-finals and played versus the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Despite their concerted efforts, Vietnamese players could not overcome their rivals from RoK in the semifinals, losing the match 0-2 to share the third place with Myanmar, who were defeated by Thailand in the other semi-final.
