The annual festival is an occasion for ethnic Ma people to pay homage to the Rice and the spirits, which protect the villagers and bless them with a bumper harvest, clement weather and a peaceful life.

The festival is considered one of the most important festivals of the Ma ethnic group, which has been preserved by and handed down through generations as well as in farming festivals held by 54 ethnicities of Vietnam.

After worshipping rites, people together continued enjoying party, singing, dancing as well as taking part in folk games.
