The Ho Chi Minh City team rider maintained an average speed of 40.4kph to complete the 18th stage in 3 hours 11 minutes and 30 seconds.

Nguyen Thanh Tam of the An Giang team came in in second place.
The 18th stage stretched from Nha Trang City to Phan Rang City with a total length of 129km.
Overshadowing the day’s proceedings was the unfortunate injury to Nguyen Huynh Dang Khoa from An Giang Province, who lost control while riding through Vinh Hy Pass and took a heavy fall on the road. He was brought to Ninh Thuan General Hospital for emergency treatment and it is unsure whether he will continue the race.
After 18 stages, Thanh Tam still holds the yellow jersey.
The white jersey belongs to Ngo Van Phuong of the An Giang team, and the red jersey is currently worn by Loic Desriac of the Dong Nai team.
The Vietnam USA Society English Centres team leads the best placed teams list.
The 19th stage will cover 127km from Phan Rang City to Da Lat City on April 18. The stage promises to be a tough challenge for the riders, having to conquer the steep climbs of Ngoan Muc Pass and Prenn Pass.
