Meanwhile, Vietnamese team won 13 gold, 14 silver and 5 bronze medals to rank second after athletes from Thailand, who topped the overall medal count with15 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze medals, while third place was claimed by Malaysia.
Vietnamese athletes also broke six records in the Southeast Asian Junior Athletics Championships, including Ngo Thi Khanh Ny (women’s 800m), Le Tien Long (men’s 1,500m and 2,000m, and 3,000m steeplechase event), and Doan Thu Hang (women’s 800m and 1,500m).
