Dong Nai celebrates 100th anniversary of Russia's October Revolution

(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial Union of Friendship Organizations on Tuesday held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (November 7), which is considered the greatest revolution in the 20th century.

The event was attended by Russian Consul General in HCM city Popov Aleksey Vladimirovich and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung highlighted the everlasting Russian October Revolution victory that significantly changed the global structure, opening a new era and lighting up the way of liberation of other nations in the world, including Vietnam.

The Russia October Revolution also brought the Vietnam and the former Soviet Union and people closer and formed their long-lasting friendship.

As for Dong Nai, specific evidence for the friendship is Tri An Hydropower Plant in Vinh Cuu district which was built under the financial and technical support from the former Soviet Union in 1984 and was put into operation in 1991.

Russian Consul General in HCM city Popov Aleksey Vladimirovich expressed his thanks to Dong Nai province’s leaders, the provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution. He believed that with mutual efforts, Vietnam and Russia will further promote traditional friendship relationships between the two countries, opeing more cooperation ties for the sake of the people’s benefits.
