Nguyen Tien Minh of HCM City beat his teammate Pham Cao Cuong to win the men’s singles category. In the women’s singles, Vu Thi Trang defeated Da Nang’s Nguyen Thuy Linh to win gold. Trang and her teammate also scored gold medal in women’s doubles. Ha Noi excellently won two gold medals in men’s and mixed doubles.
Hosts Dong Nai won two bronze medals in men’s singles and mixed doubles to surpass their set target of scoring a gold medal.
The event, the first of its kind held in Dong Nai province, attracted 104 athletes from 17 teams across the country, competing in the men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
