Musician Tran Viet Binh receives State award

Addressing at the ceremony, State President Tran Dai Quang noted that the literature and art of Vietnam have inherited and promoted the patriotism and humanism of the nation, while closely attaching to the revolutionary career of the Party and nation. They are a sharp tool in the cultural and ideological battlefield, significantly contributing to the victory of the struggle for national liberation, reunification as well as construction and defence.

State President Tran Dai Quang asked ministries, sectors, localities to continue paying due attention to encourage artists and writers to promote their talent and creativity, while popularizing the country’s art and literature with high awareness of their social responsibility and citizen’s obligations.

Among the honorees for the State award is musician Tran Viet Binh, resident of Dong Nai province, who is a member of the Vietnam Musician Association, the Vietnam Folk Letters and Arts Association and the Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association.

Binh has composed many famous songs, namely Dong song (The river), Dong Nai mua sau rieng (Dong Nai province in durian harvesting season), Hat gao lang ta (our village’s rice), etc.
