The annually event, which is organized by the Vietnam Football Federation, draws the participation of 24 football teams aged 17 including Dong Nai, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Thua Thien - Hue, Ha Noi, Public Security, Viettel, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, SHB Da Nang, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Song Lam Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Binh Dinh, PVF, Long An, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap and Can Tho.
The teams are divided into four groups, to compete in round- robin matches to select best teams from each group for the final round.
In the opening match of group C, Dong Nai won Lam Dong 2-1. Dong Nai will play their second match on May 27.
