(ĐN)- The 2016 National Petanque Team Championships kicked off yesterday in Soc Trang province.
The annual event featured the participation of nearly 111 athletes from 12 teams across the country, including team from Dong Nai province, in competition for medals in four disciplines for both men and women.
The tournament aimed to promote the development of the sport among localities nationwide, while offering a good opportunity for outstanding athletes to vie for slots in the national petanque team.
It will run until November 29.
