Musician Tran Viet Binh among nominees for State awards

(ĐN)- The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has announced the plan for the ceremony to present the 2016 Ho Chi Minh and State awards for literature and arts which will take place on September 30 in Hanoi's Opera House.

(ĐN)- The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has announced the plan for the ceremony to present the 2016 Ho Chi Minh and State awards for literature and arts which will take place on September 30 in Hanoi’s Opera House.

This year’s award, there have been 18 nominees for the Ho Chi Minh award and 95 nominees for the State award. The awards have been presented every 5 years since 1996 for 9 categories: literature, fine-arts, music, cinema, theatre, photography, architecture, folklore, and dance.

Among the nominees for the State award, musician Tran Viet Binh, resident of Dong Nai province, will be awarded the prize for his songs , namely Dong song (The river), Dong Nai mua sau rieng (Dong Nai province in durian harvesting season), Hat gao lang ta (our village’s rice), etc.

These two prestigious awards conferred by the President provide encouragement to authors and receive strong response from the public.
