After two days of competition, young athletes from Cam My district won 15 gold, 7 silver and 14 bronze medals to top the medal tally, followed by Trang Bom district with 14 gold, 13 silver and 10 bronze medals while Nhon Trach went third.
The tournament, the first-ever of its kind held by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, attracted the participation of nearly 100 young athletes, representing 9 localities across the province, competing for 44 sets of medals in categories for professionals and young athletes.
The event aims to promote the athletics training movement in society as well as offer a good chance for young athletes to practice and sharpen their skills, and select best athletes for the forthcoming national athletic competitions.
