Dong Nai wins gold at national Muay tourney

(ĐN)- Fighters from Dong Nai province scored one gold, two silver and one bronze medals to finish in sixth at the 2016 National Muay Championships, which closed in Thanh Hoa province yesterday.

 

(ĐN)- Fighters from Dong Nai province scored one gold, two silver and one bronze medals to finish in sixth at the 2016 National Muay Championships, which closed in Thanh Hoa province yesterday.

The six-event brought together 118 fighters from 13 cities and provinces nationwide vying for 32 sets of medals in ten weight combat categories for men and eight for women.

Fighters from HCM city finished on top with seven gold, three silver and seven bronze medals. Binh Duong ranked second while hosts Thanh Hoa were third.

Outstanding athletes will be selected to represent Vietnam at the Asian Beach Games to be held in Da Nang city later this year.

Muay, a traditional martial art of Thailand, has been developed strongly worldwide and is included in international and regional competitions in recent years.
