(ĐN)- Young players from Dong Nai province scored 2 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals at the 2016 National Youth Chess Tournament which concluded yesterday in Da Nang city.
Notably, Thai Ngoc Tuong Minh of Dong Nai overcame World U8 champion Nguyen Le Cam Hien to win a gold medal in girls’ U9 category. The other gold medal went to Hua Nguyen Gia Han.
The tournament, which kicked off on July 8, drew the participation of 850 young players from 32 teams nationwide, competing for 128 sets of medals in four events of rapid, blitz, standard and traditional in 8 categories for both boys and girls.
