(ĐN)- The Research Centre for Deaf Culture Promotion under Dong Nai University has organized the second Open Sports festival for Deaf Clubs, attracting the participation of 170 athletes from 8 clubs for deaf people from provinces and cities in southern region.
(ĐN)- The Research Centre for Deaf Culture Promotion under Dong Nai University has organized the second Open Sports festival for Deaf Clubs, attracting the participation of 170 athletes from 8 clubs for deaf people from provinces and cities in southern region.
The athletes competed in 6 games including football, badminton, relay race, tug of war, chess and volleyball.
At the end of the event, the organizers awarded 8 sets of medals for 8 categories of 6 games. Accordingly, hosts Research Centre for Deaf Culture Promotion top the competition, scoring 2 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. They were followed by clubs from HCM city and Khanh Hoa province.
The sports festival is part of activities in response to the Day for Vietnamese Disabled People which falls on April 18. It also offered a chance for deaf people to do sports regularly and an opportunity to meet and exchange with the others, creating relationships between deaf people communities in Vietnam.
