An exhibition opened in Ho Chi Minh City on January 7 displaying maps and other documents evidencing Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.

The event, entitled ‘Vietnam’s Hoang Sa, Truong Sa – Historical and Legal Evidence’ has been sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the High Command of Military Zone 7.

The exhibited materials are written in Han (classical Chinese), Nom (Vietnamese ideographic script), Vietnamese and the French languages and unquestionably affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos, said MIC Minister Nguyen Bac Son in a speech at the opening.

It is intended to be a complete, concise and authoritative exposition on the issue replete with all pertinent images, documents or other relevant items including maps collected from 45 exhibitions recently held in 31 provinces, 9 islands and 5 army units throughout the country.
