Vietnam Boxing Federation makes its debut

The Vietnam Boxing Federation was officially established at the National Sports Training Centre in Hanoi on September 13 with a new 27-member executive committee for 2015-2019 headed by Tran Minh Tien, General Director of Lastasa Multimedia JSC.

The establishment of the federation will contribute to encouraging boxing movements across the country, said Tien.

After boxing was banned in Vietnam since 2002, it has now gradually captured the attention of fans.

Vietnamese boxing have obtained some certain results so far. Vietnamese boxer Luong Van Toan brought home the first gold medal at Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) 2011.

Luu Thi Duyen and Ha Thi Linh bagged two gold medals at SEA Games 2013 and Truong Dinh Hoang, Le Thi Bang and Nguyen Thi Yen won three consecutive medals at SEA Games 2015.
