The championships held by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation opened on September 20 and drew the participation of more than 100 athletes from nine teams including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Can Tho, Bac Giang, Vinh Long and People’s Police, competing for medals in 4 categories for both men and women.
At the end of the competition, Ha Noi ranked first with three gold medals, followed by HCM city and Soc Trang. Meanwhile, the hosts Dong Nai scored one silver and two bronze medals.
The annual tournament aims to select the outstanding athletes for the national team in preparation for upcoming regional and international competitions.
