The tournament is being co-organized by Nhan Dan newspaper, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, as part of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
Accordingly, 54 male and 46 female athletes are vying for medals in seven events: men’s and women’s singles, doubles and team disciplines and the mixed doubles category with the total prize money at VND195 million.
The tournamnet is a good chance for the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Table-Tennis Federation to accumulate competitive experiences and enable the Federation to discover new promising faces for national squads.
