Vietnam has been drawn to play in Group B along with Myanmar, Singapore, Timor Leste and Malaysia, while Group A is comprised of Thailand, Cambodia, Brunei, Laos and the Philippines.

The group-stage tournament will be played between August 22 and 31 in a round robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing into the semifinals, planned for September 2.

U-19 Vietnam will begin their campaign on August 25 with a clash against Timor Leste. They will go on to play Malaysia on August 27 and Singapore on August 29 before taking on Myanmar in their last group match on August 31.

Vietnam has set a target of making the final of this year’s event, with their confidence boosted by a 6-0 victory over U-19 Laos in a recent friendly match.

U-19 Vietnam finished as runners-up at last year’s competition, held in Hanoi, after losing 0-1 to U-19 Japan in the final game.
