(ĐN)- The 2015 National Sport Games for People with Disabilities concluded yesterday at Dong Nai Sports Center after 4 days of competition.
Athletes from HCM city came in first with 272 gold, 277 silver and 181 bronze medals. They were followed by Ha Noi with 150 gold, 67 silver and 54 bronze medals, and Quang Tri with 14 gold, 21 silver and 17 bronze medals. Meanwhile, hosts Dong Nai finished fourth, earning 14 gold, 17 silver and 21 bronze medals.

Also at the closing ceremony, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training awarded 3 third-class Labor Medals to 3 athletes and Certificates from the Prime Minister to 22 coaches and athletes for their outstanding performance at the ASEAN Paragames helld in Myanmar. In addition, the General Department also presented flags to 5 excellent delegations including, HCM city, Ha Noi, Quang Tri, Da Nang and Dong Nai.
The annual tournament, which is co-organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Paralympic Association and Dong Nai provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, attracted 822 athletes from 31 provinces and cities nationwide, competing for 860 sets of medals in seven games.
It offers a good opportunity for people with disabilities to exchange experiences. It also aims to help them find meaning in life, encourage them to practice sports to improve their health as well as select and train Vietnamese athletes with physical disabilities for the Asian Paragames in Singapore this December and World Paragames in Brazil in September next year.
