Tran Thi Len brought home the first gold medal of the day for Vietnam in the women’s individual epee. Len beat Raguin Harlene of Philippines 15-7 in the final.
Not long after, Nguyen Thi Le Dung defeated Starrat Sirawalai of Thailand 15-5 in the women’s individual sabre final to claim the second gold medal for Vietnam.
Young fencer Nguyen Minh Quang left a mark in his first appearance at the Games with a silver medal in the men’s individual foil. He lost 15-11 to Panchan Nontapat in the final.
In total, Vietnam has won four gold medals, one silver and five bronzes to maintain second place on the Games’ medal tally.
