Vietnam beat Japan 3-1 on May 28 to secure the fifth place of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in China.

Vietnam beat Japan 3-1 on May 28 to secure the fifth place of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in China.

It is the second win of the Vietnamese athletes, following their 3-2 victory in the group round last week. 

Earlier, Vietnam defeated the Asian giants 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19. 

It is the best rank of Vietnam in the continental level. 

Previously they twice ranked sixth in the 2003 and 2013 tournaments.
