(ĐN)- A wide range of activities and art performances have been being held accross the province to celebrate the 125th birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh.
On this occasion, Xuan Loc district planed to build and upgrade 88 charity houses for ethnic minority households, cooperated with doctors from HCM city to provide free medical check-ups and medicine to more than 900 locals and students. Besides, local soldiers and young people have actively joined hands to upgrade rural traffic roads, bring power and clean water to ethnic villages , etc.
On May 17, Centre of Tran Bien Temple of Literature launched a tree-planting festival with thousands of locals and youths in attendance. The tree-planting festival is an annual tradition initiated by the late President Ho Chi Minh in 1959. After the launching ceremony, young people from Dofico and Tran Bien planted 125 trees at the Temple.
An art performances was also organized at Tran Bien last night to mark the late Vietnamese leader’s 125th birth anniversary (May 19, 1890). Publicity campaigns have been conducted to encourage patriotism and enhance the local community’s understanding of the nation’s heroes.
Several exhibitions and seminars have been organised in the province exploring the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.
