A 122-year-old Vietnamese woman, Nguyen Thi Tru, has become the world’s oldest person alive, unveiled the World Record Association (WRA).
Currently living in Ho Chi Minh City, Tru has eleven children, only two of whom are alive and are in their eighties, according to the Vietnam Book of Records (Vietkings) which made public the WRA’s announcement in HCM City on April 23.
She has lived a long healthy life and has never been hospitalised for severe illnesses.
The title previously belonged to a Japanese woman, Misao Okawa, who passed away on April 1 this year.
