(ĐN)- Dong Nai Sports Festival for Disabled People concluded on Friday evening at the provincial Sports Center after three days of competition.
Jointly held by Departments of Labour, War Invalid, and Social Affairs, and Culture, Sports and Tourism, the competition attracted 222 athletes representing for more than 154,000 disabled people in the province, competing for 54 sets of medals in 5 games including athletics, swimming, table-tennis, weight-lifting and badminton.
At the end of the competition, Bien Hoa city went first with 20 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze medals. They were followed by Trang Bom district, scoring 14 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals, and Dinh Quan came third with 4 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medals.
The annual event offers a good opportunity for people with disabilities to exchange experiences. It also aims to help them find meaning in life, encourage hope and integrate into the community as well as to select outstanding athletes to compete at the upcoming National Sports Festival for Disabled People which will be hosted by Dong Nai province this July.
