(ĐN)- On December 15, Dong Nai earned another gold medal at the 7th National Sports Games taking place in Nam Dinh province, bringing is total gold medals at the largest national sports event to 6.
In the Vovinam contest, martial artist Dieu Van Sang excellently defeated his rival 5-0 in the final match to win one more gold medal for Dong Nai. In addition, Dong Nai won a bronze medal in women’s doubles’ category of Sepak Takraw event.

At the end of the National Sports Games, Dong Nai has scored 6 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze medals to rank 23rd in the medal tally. Ha Noi finished top with 167 golds, 118 silvers and 137 bronzes, followed by HCM City with 124 golds, 103 silvers and 104 bronzes while the Military team came third.
The closing ceremony of the 7th National Sports Games takes place at 8:00p.m today at Nam Dinh Gymnasium in Nam Dinh province.
Launched in 1990, the Vietnam National Games is organised every four years.
This year’s event, held from December 6-16, attracts the participation of nearly 7,500 athletes from cities, provinces and public security and military teams competing in 36 sports.
