(ĐN)- An exhibition featuring historical maps, documents and photographs affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos opened at Vinh Cuu district’s Museum on July 15.

Entitled ‘Dong Nai with fatherland’s sea and islands’, the exhibition showcased 150 photographs, books and newspapers which were divided into four subjects including Truong Sa, and Hoang Sa archipelagos, maps affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, and Dong Nai with fatherland’s sea and islands.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee Pham Minh Phuoc said that the exhibition aims to express the love of people in Vinh Cuu in particular and Dong Nai in general toward the country’s sea and islands, and naval soldiers who are protecting sea and island sovereignty.
It is also helps raise awareness among the local people about Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos, as well as the importance of protecting the national sea and island sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The event, which is jointly held by the district’s People’s Committee and the provincial Museum, will run until July 31.
