Nguyen Hoang Linh Phuong came first in the Free category of “Val Tidone International Music Competitions” while the highest titles of category A for contestants from seven to nine years old went to Nguyen Hoang Phuong Thy and category B for 10 to 12 years old to Quach Hoang Nhi.
Notably, Thy also scooped the first prize of a competition round for the best 15 performers in four categories of piano, guitar, vocal music and accordion.
The 17th competition attracted more than 40 young pianists from 11 countries and territories. Vietnamese contestants were the youngest to overcome other experienced competitors and also highly acclaimed by the judging panel.
As for the “Piano Talents 2014 International Competition for Young Pianists”, Thy topped category A and Hoang Nhi led category B of this competition.
Organizers said 109 contestants from 31 different countries and territories vied for titles of this competition. Most of the performed the works of Schumann, Liszt and Grieg that require professional performance skills though contestants are aged from eight to 10.
