About 3,000 books and documents, including 400 books about economic potentials and strength, society and the national security of Vietnam’s sea and islands are on display in the central province of Quang Ngai.
The exhibition takes place in Tu Nghia district from May 27th to June 3rd.
As many as 85 photos by Vietnamese and foreign photographers which highlight the beauty of the sea and islands as well as the protection of national sovereignty over sea and islands are also exhibited. Of particular note are photos relating to eight ancient maps affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
The exhibition is expected to show both local people and international friends that from a very early period until now, Vietnamese states have exercised their sovereignty over the two archipelagos in line with international law. It is also a chance to raise patriotism and awareness of defending sea and island sovereignty, particularly in younger generations.
The event drew the participation of many border guards, students and local people.
On this occasion, the Quang Ngai provincial General Museum presented books about Vietnam’s sovereignty over its sea and islands to several units in the provincial Border Guard and schools in the district.
