(ĐN)- Thong Nhat district’s People’s Committee yesterday held a ceremony to announce the decision by the Provincial People’s Committee on recognition of Dau Giay temple in Bau Ham 2 commune as a historical relic under provincial-level protection.

Dau Giay temple was built in 1939 by rubber plantation coolies, covering 65 square meters in An Loc village, Binh Lam Thuong district in former Bien Hoa province.

From 1945 to 1952, the temple was burnt by the French invaders when they return to occupy Bien Hoa province. In 1953, the rubber plantation coolies and local people rebuilt the temple with 5,550 square meters, located some 2 km nearby, which is in being until now.
