The annual festival is an occasion for ethnic Choro to pay homage to Giang (Heaven) and the spirits, which protect the villagers and bless them with a bumper harvest, clement weather and a peaceful life.

Highlights at the festival include making traditional Choro dishes such as com lam (rice cooked in tubes of bamboo), grilled meat, boiled chicken, ruou can (wine drunk from a jar), banh  day (round glutinous rice cake), and offering to the gods of rice and forest.

The festival has drums and gongs performances and folk games like day gay (pushing sticks), keo co (tug of war), bit mat dap  nieu (smashing a clay pot while blindfolded), nhay bao bo (bag jumping).
