Ong Pagoda Festival attracts over 50,000 visitors

(ĐN)-The 2014 Ong Pagoda Festival, which was held form February 10-12, attracted more than 50,000 visitors.

During three-day event, many activities were held, such as unicorn-lion-dragon dance, traditional music performance, calligraphy performance, etc.

The festival, the second of its kind, aims to contemplate and worship, recall ancestors, and pray for safety and prosperity for the country and people.

Ong Pagoda is located at Hiep Hoa commune, Bien Hoa city. It was built in 1684 by the Chinese Community in Cu Lao Pho (Pho isle). At first, it was named Quan De Pagoda, and later renamed That Phu Co Temple (or Ong Pagoda).

In 2001, Ong Pagoda was listed as national cultural heritage.
