The government has just announced that April 21 would be celebrated as the Vietnamese Book Day from now on.

This decision is meant to encourage the culture of reading, praise the value of books and to enhance the responsibilities of the concerned agencies in the field.

Prior to this decision, the Ministry of Information and Communications used to organise the Book and Reading Culture Festival in big cities every year on April 23 to commemorate the World Book and Copyright Day.
