Viet Nam will host an annual meeting of the World Martial Arts Union (WoMAU), scheduled to take place in July next year.

A WoMAU delegation will arrive in Viet Nam in February to talk with National Sports Administration officials about plans and venues for the event.

Vo Danh Hai, WoMAU deputy president, said the meeting will attract participation from around 35 nations who will compete across 42 categories of martial arts.

The event will provide all participants with an opportunity to popularise their national sports, including muay from Thailand, arnis from the Philippines, pencak silat of Indonesia, and thaing from Myanmar.

Hai said Viet Nam would present Vietnamese vovinam and its traditional martial art exhibited during the WoMAU festival in South Korea in September.
