(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s cyclists won one first, two second and one third prizes at the traditional bicycle race to welcome the New Year 2014, which was held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 29.
Accordingly, Dao The Hung from Dong Nai Super Probike Club came first while Vo Ngoc Minh, a member of Dinamo Dong Nai Club, were second in the between 46 and 60 age category.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Tan Lai and Nguyen Minh Nhat from Dinamo Dong Nai Club were second and third in the between 16 and 55 age category.
The annual race attracted the participation of more than 250 cyclists, including foreign athletes from 23 teams from eight provinces and city.
They were divided into 27 teams competing in two age categories – between 16 and 55 in 64-km track, and between 46 and 60 in 32-km track.
The annual tournament was part of an array of events in HCM City to celebrate the New Year 2014 and encourage the use of bicycles as a clean mean of transport to protect the environment.
It also aims to help local bike racers hone their professional skills, select the best athletes for the national team, and promote sports and physically training movements.
