(ĐN)- The 2013 National Swimming Championships concluded in Hanoi on September 16.
The five-day attracted hundreds of male and female athletes from across the country competing in swimming events, including 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800, 1,500m, 4x100m, 4x200m freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, medley, relay and medley relay.
At the event, two swimmers from Dong Nai scored two gold, seven silver and one bronze medals.
Ho Chi Minh City dominated the championships, sweeping the podium with a total of 18 gold, 11 silver and eight bronze medals.
Da Nang brought home all nine gold three silver and two bronze medals to place second, followed by Binh Phuoc with three gold, four silver and one bronze medals.
The competition offers a good opportunity for divers and swimmers to gain more experience and provides a chance for local coaches to select outstanding athletes for the national team in preparation for upcoming regional and international tournaments.
