The World Records University (WRU) has offered a certificate to recognize the massive book titled ‘Thi Van Yen Tu’ by Professor Hoang Quang Thuan on the Lan Pagoda-Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Uong Bi City in northern Province of Quang Ninh as a national relic.

The 300-page book, measuring 125x80x16cms with wooden covers and weighing 120kg includes 143 poems and pictures honoring Truc Lam Zen Monastery and the wonderful scenes in the sacred mountainous area of Yen Tu and Dong Pagoda in the Yen Tu peak.
The poem book describes activities of the King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong, the third king of the Tran Dynasty in practicing and propagating Buddhism, and founding the Truc Lam School of Zen 700 years ago. After defeating Mongol invaders, the king abdicated his throne at the age of 35 and spent the rest of his life on Yen Tu Mountain. During that time, the King-Monk worked to unify different sects of Vietnamese Buddhism into Vietnamese Zen Buddhism.
The book was donated to Truc Lam Zen Monastery in January 2012 and recognized as the biggest wood book in Asia by the Asia Record Organization in May 2012.
The ceremony for receiving World Records University certificate will be held at Truc Lam Zen Monastery on September 22.
