The first international festival for theatre schools in the Asia-Pacific region will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 5-10.
The first international festival for theatre schools in the Asia-Pacific region will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 5-10.
The event is expected to welcome 120 delegates and students from 15 professional theatre schools of ten regional countries and territories, including Australia, China, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Chinese Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema and the International Exchange and Training Centre of Stage Performance of My Phat Company will represent theatre schools in the host country at the event.
According to the organising board, Vietnamese students and their international peers are scheduled to stage a joint performance at the closing ceremony.
Within the framework of the event, there will be workshops for participants to exchange their experience in theatrical arts and agree on cooperation programmes between schools.
The festival is co-organised by the International Exchange and Training Centre of Stage Performance of My Phat Company with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the HCM City Stage Artists Association and HCM City Dance School and Theatre.
