International seminar on cultural heritages to be held in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- On July 22, Head of the Dong Nai provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Huynh Van Toi, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri and related departments had a working session with Vice President Nguyen Giang Hai of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS).

At the session, the two sides were unanimously in organizing the international seminar on "The role of cultural heritages in education and peace-building" in November 2013

The seminar aims to raise the public awareness of the role of cultural heritages and accept them in order to solve the social conflicts to protect and increase the value of cultural heritages and promote cultural heritages as a resource for peace-making and peace-building.

The seminar, which will be jointly held by VASS, Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee and Asian Resource Foundation, is expected to attract more than 70 scientists in the fields of archaeology, culture, ethnography; peace, human rights researchers and non-government workers. After the seminar, participants will take part in a field research at Cat Tien National Park.

Speaking at the session, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri stressed the necessary of the forthcoming seminar that will enhance the awareness of the departments, agencies and sectors in protecting cultural heritages.

Presently, the province is home to nearly 50 national and provincial heritages that need protection and development.
